Oh Georgie - what a silly sausage person you are... it is not an Americanism which being used by Mr Adams but well known saying, meaning of which is, you are fortunate man and may get even more fortunate if you are playing cards right (which is Swedishism) .
Yes, so sad people are dying - my friend Greta say it necessary for peoples to die to make room for more living ones. But Greta is batty cow.
I do not like funerals where they are singing mournful songs which are unknown to me. I like style of funeral what they have in New Orleans with lots of colour and music and dancing. I have not been to this place but see it on the television.
But you must not distress yourself. Rather consider how you might enjoy life... like Mr Adams say about being in there and so be prepared to fill your boots. (I learn this saying from bus driver Brian with whom I was once domiciled).
Yes the marriage is hazardous occupation. Do you know more murders occur in bedroom than on streets of San Francisco? - this is fact.
My brother Sven marry young. His wife leave him right after ceremony, but he is not distressed by this because he is paid monies for his act of kindness which enable this lady from Ukraine to dwell in civilised country, which is Sweden. And to also pursue career in Adult Movie industry (in which Sven prominent director - though sadly no more, as I have explained for you previously.)
Anyway, enough of this talk about dismal things like murder and marriage. I have bought several new items of clothing from excellent store which is Primark. Some of them are for wearing in bedroom!! (where there will be no murder - only fun and frolic!!) Do you note use of exclaiming marks and significance of these?
Thank you for filling me in with your doings and look forward to more of such, also with details of venue for next meeting.

Some thoughts on public transport - and death
**************************************************************8
Well, Anna, I was going to start this post by telling you about my trip today on public transport, to whit, the motor-bus.
But when I returned to Mistress Bulstrode's lodging house I learned that another friend had died.
Norman was a good bloke who liked a pint, and traditional jazz .
We had some good nights out.
He started to suffer from Altzeimers and his wife looked after him. But when he became worse he went into a home. I understand that he died because his brain ceased to be able send to his muscles the information they needed to enable him to eat and swallow food.
I have been having a look at the Gnostic Gospels and they make sense. They do not, however, say anything about brain decay and the disintegration of that which we call 'personality'. How can one make choices to 'step in and out of the story' if one's brain isn't functioning properly?
Anyway, the bus journey. A young couple got on the bus (I don't think either of them was more than nineteen years old) and they had a small infant in a push chair. And I thought what sort of a life are they going to have, with a young child so early in life. Of course, being a man, I put myself in the guy's place and thought: what dreams, hopes, ambitions will he now have to forego? You may say this is a pessimistic view and maybe they are very happy to have this child. I imagine they are - I would be - but just fast forward a few years... what about when they realise what a responsibility a child is? Will they still be happy - with each other? With themselves?
Whilst waiting for the return bus another family group walked past. In the lead was a big guy of about twenty five or so. He had a young child on his shoulders and was pushing a buggy with a baby. Following behind came his 'partner' with a third child.
On the guy's T Shirt was emblazoned the slogan 'Just Do It'.
Quite.
I like travelling on public transport. You get to see people. Some of them you'd rather not see but that's all part of the deal, I suppose.
Anyway, going back to Norman, it shows that one should make the most of life. Make hay while the moon shines... as you say, Anna.
To this end we will arrange another meeting. I take note of your comments re the venue (although don't pay too much attention to the 'funny' looks of Mrs Wainwright) and will see what I can do.
Did you see the comment from Mr. Adams? I cannot think what he means. Perhaps it is an Americanism.
Looking forward to a screen-ful of your words.

Oh Georgie
Such heights did we reach, such exploding fireworks, such a trip to moon on the wings of gossamer as song is saying.
Now important is the question - when do we meet again? I know you are experiencing the fiscal tribulations at the moment and so am prepared to donate sum of money for the purpose of some more intimate social intercourse.
Only thing being could we try different venue of hotel for next instant of meeting? I am feeling uncomfortable the way lady owner of hotel looks at me in morning when we come for the breakfast.
This perhaps because old cow think that because often times you are staying here on your own self she has some special interest of you. I do not wish to know if you have availed yourself of charms offered by this lady in past - one does inappropriate things in desperation - but all such malarkey must now be stopping. Are you understanding me?
I will not play second violin to anybody - except perhaps male person because this is different.
But I am forgetting to ask how is rib cage and various muscles surrounding? Must surely be better now, is not it? Also I do not think lady doctor appropriate for you at this time, but such decision to you is up.
Please fill me in as you promise.
I am interesting to know all about your doings.
Till soon we meet.

Three days to remember
WOW Anna - what a weekend that was, eh?
I'd forgotten you had that tattoo!
Sorry I have been so long in writing but all sorts of things have happened - I will send you a follow up to fill you in.
I am still hurting from when I fell out of bed.
Even now I'm not sure how I did it - I think I was fumbling for a light switch, or something, and got disorientated. Next thing I was on the floor with my right arm underneath me. Of course when you could see that I had hurt myself you stopped laughing, and suggested I just lie there for a bit. But there was a a draft blowing under that door which encouraged me to fight the pain and get myself back in bed.
A pity it happened on the first night because although it didn't spoil the weekend it curtailed our activities somewhat - I really would have liked to have gone on that pony trek.
I did think of going to see the doctor when I got back. I phoned the surgery but was told that she had 'rung in sick'. Honestly what is the world coming to.
I suppose I could have made an appointment to see one of the other doctors but I find that Claudia is more attuned to my needs.
Will close now and write again.
With vibrant (though painful) memories of the weekend.

If this story is true then why not have real ordinary size girl go walking streets?
I will tell you why - she would not get more that 10 yards before she is mugged, this being town of Liverpool.
What do they find when they x ray neck? Hope is nothing that will interfere with joyous reunion we have planned!
I do not like the x ray. See how operator go hide behind screen when taking picture, leaving you to get full bashing of x type rays.
Bowling ball what is lighter than head of medium person also contain less than medium head - though not always is this true.
Please reply quickly

STRIKE
****************************
Did you know, Anna, that your head is heavier than a medium bowling ball?
I know because I am going for an X ray on my neck. The doctor thinks I may have something called Spondylitis and when I looked it up on the internet I found the useful little snippet about how heavy your head is.
This why, when I was ice skating, the coach would say... Don't lean forward, the weight of your head will tip you on your face. (On one occasion I realised my head was tilting forward and flung it back... too far back, and I fell backwards, cracking my head on the ice -
It's an 'extreme sport' , ice skating.)
I will let you know how I go on.
And, by the way... 'a big doll on strings' - you Swedish ignoramous.
They were re-enacting a true story of a little girl whose father was on the Titanic; she was wandering around Liverpool asking for news of him. Eventually she met up with her uncle (60 feet high in the re-enactment and dressed as a deep-sea diver) and they sailed off together (in the re-enactment, that is).
Don't worry, we shall meet in the near future - I promise you.

Why am I still not hearing from you Georgie?
I hope you do not have the depression! Of course England is bloody depressing place to be living. Is not only weather but also small narrow-mindedness of rulers like politicians, also a person can not buy cup of coffee after seven in evening. What a place!
I see from television that this town Liverpool is having celebration for 100 years anniversay of biggest disaster in history of sea. (I am shaking head as I write these words)
Also - how do they celebrate? They get some French people to walk big doll on strings through streets.
This is hard to be believing but is so.
I do hope you not depressed because I learn that this is real illness what people don't believe - some of them. So will not be telling you pull yourself together. (I remember when in ignorant I tell you to pull yourself together, you say - This may be ok for you but some of us are further apart than others!
This I am finding funny - but also not funny.
Please write soonest.

I think this is silly idea. But I think also perhaps you are using the irony?
In Sweden we would not allow such a race. But you English are still barbarians with the cock-fighting and bear-bating which is only recently been banned as what I have been told.
Not to be forgetting the foxes hunting which you think is traditional old English countryside sport and fox really enjoy it anyway. What a load of ballcocks. You say it best way to keep down fox population but at same time say you hardly ever catch fox. This typical of English hypocrisy.
Anyway this will only be short one as I have seminar to attend.
Please tell me when we may meet.
I will not wait forever you know.

Horses don't bet on people
******************************************
Apparently Claire Balding commented (at the Grand National) that is was lovely to see horses who had lost their jockeys still running and jumping the fences.
This has given me a great idea: If horses do love running and jumping so much that they will do it on their own - just for the fun of it - why not do away with the jockeys?
The horses would go faster (they wouldn't need saddles or the other stuff - just a sort of cloth on their back with a number on it - like greyhounds) and jockeys would no longer have to risk their necks (or the anger of owners and trainers when they lost).
I really am surprised no on has thought of this before.
Don't you think this would be a splendid idea, Anna?
Love.....George
(by the way - you haven't replied to my last post yet - I hope you are well)

Balls
Well, Anna, you may remember this photo... it was taken some years ago when I was trying to get my head together.
Happily I am now much more centred and 'on the ball'.
Talking of balls - I have a few in my court at the moment. Including yours. So I shall return it now - with a lot of topspin. Look out!
I am sorry we were not able to rendezvous over the weekend, but my brother Hector has been released into the community and has told the authorities that I will be responsible for him - what a nerve!
Naturally, I want to get this all straightened out, but for the moment he is kipping on Mrs Bulstrode's sofa. (Heart of gold, that woman).
He still has that nasty habit - which we won't go into - and he doesn't keep himself too clean, generally. But strangely, Mrs B has taken quite a shine to him. In a way, this lets me off the hook a bit - still, we cannot go on with this strange menage a trois - it just isn't seemly. (there is nothing sexual about it, I hasten to add... it is just so weird).
Coming back to photographs, I have recently been using my old lubitel 166. I bought a roll of HP5 and have taken a few pictures (I will let you see them later). It feels good to use once again a fully 'manual' camera: no automatic wind-on (you have the little red window and have to watch for the numbers as you wind the film); no exposure meter (I am using an equally ancient 'Leningrad') and of course the old 12 on 120 (21/4 square negatives).
Anyway, I shall have to go - I can hear Hector singing downstairs. I fear Mrs Bulstrode's got a few cans in.
Soon to be re-united
George
